This variety is drought-tolerant but prefers full sun for optimal growth. The large sunflower blooms produce loads of Seeds for eating, saving, or feeding wildlife. Dwarf sunflowers are great for raised beds or container gardens. For this variety, just be sure that the pot or plant base is strong enough to support the large blooms. Dwarf sunflowers are also great for interplanting in the vegetable garden as they won't shade other plants due to their smaller size.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSunspot Dwarf Sunflower can be direct-seeded or transplanted. Direct-seeding can be easily done with a walk-behind planter like our Hoss Garden Seeder. We recommend using a #3 seed plate and modifying the hole size to fit the variety being planted. Sunflower seed size can vary greatly from one variety to the next, therefore it's important to always calibrate the seed plate hole size for the variety being planted. Sunflowers grow well when planted on double rows with drip irrigation.
